Buddy Green at the Station Inn
Back on March 5, it wasn’t just Buddy Green and his slew of harmonicas, but a whole rowdy bunch of stringed instrument slinging outlaws: Byron House, Bryan Sutton, Luke Bulla and Gordon Mote. Before this show I thought I was a pretty decent guitar player… nope. You all know the story of Robert Johnson and his deal with the Devil - well, I have my suspicions that some on that stage may have had similar dealings. The guitars, fiddles, banjos, accordions, and of course, harmonicas, were on fire.
As a big bonus, Buddy also had other friends on the stage helping to sing soul-stirring gospel songs. And, towards the end of the night, young Mr. Dillard (David Dillard’s son) climbed up on stage for, I presume, his first performance at the legendary Station Inn - a magical moment, I suspect, he won’t soon forget.
